The Jazz Perpetrators

The Jazz Perpetrators will be returning to the Gambrills location of the Smashing Grapes Kitchen + Bar this Saturday, March 18 (8:30-11:30).

This Smashing Grapes Gambrills venue, which is located at 2383 Brandermill Blvd, Gambrills, MD 21054, is rapidly becoming a hot spot in the Waugh Chapel Towne Centre. Per venue request, The Perps will deliver an all-instrumental performance of jazz standards, pop hits and R&B favorites done in their unique “high spirits, low volume” style. So come on out and feel the groove – see you there!

The Jazz Perpetrators have been lending a hand and a horn to the Goshen Farm Preservation Society’s annual fundraiser every year for almost a decade now (give or take a pandemic) and will continue that tradition this Sunday, March 12. The event – Java & Jazz – takes place at the Cape St. Claire clubhouse located at 1223 River Bay Rd, Annapolis, Maryland.

The Perps, who will be doing their hootin’ ‘n tootin’ from 3 to 5pm, will be joined by their vocalist, the one-and-only Sterling Dorn, who’s guaranteed to get things movin’ and groovin’. Come on out and hear some good music and support a good cause. This event is open to the public and free to attend; however, any and all donations are greatly appreciated.

Now that February gigs are wrapped up, it’s time for The Jazz Perpetrators to get ready for another month of musical mischief. The band’s dance card for March includes:

• Sunday, March 12 (3-5pm): Goshen Farm Preservation Society’s annual Java & Jazz fundraiser at the Cape St. Claire clubhouse (1223 River Bay Rd, Annapolis, Maryland). This event is open to the public and free to attend; however, any and all donations are greatly appreciated.

• Saturday, March 18 (8:30-11:30pm): Smashing Grapes Kitchen + Wine Bar, Waugh Chapel Towne Centre (2383 Brandermill Blvd, Gambrills, MD 21054). Sit back and sip while The Perps swing – cool-a-mundo, daddy-o!

• Sunday, March 26 (10am-2pm): Blackwall Hitch Restaurant (400 Sixth Street, Annapolis, MD 21403). This is the place to be for a great mid-day dining and musical experience in Annapolis.

This weekend will feature a pair of Jazz Perpetrator appearances. First up is an 8-11pm performance at the Annapolis location of Smashing Grapes Kitchen + Wine Bar, located at 177 Jennifer Road, Annapolis, MD 21401 in restaurant row near the Annapolis Mall. This is always a fun place to catch The Perps in the act.

The band takes Saturday off and then closes the weekend with an appearance at the Blackwall Hitch’s famous Sunday brunch, performing from 10am to 2pm for all you early birds. The Hitch is located just past the Annapolis City dock at 400 Sixth Street, Annapolis, MD 21403 and has plenty of parking.  

Great food and drink plus great music is one of life’s most enjoyable combinations – come out and treat yourself!

February may be the shortest month, but this year it’s chock full o’ Jazz Perpetrator appearances. The Perps’ February triple play includes a mid-day Sunday brunch gig at the Blackwall Hitch in Eastport sandwiched in between a pair of Smashing Grapes appearances, one each at the kitchen + wine bar’s Annapolis and Gambrills locations.

The end of January is the beginning of another year of Jazz Perpetrator mania as the band starts a new year of public performances with an appearance at the Blackwall Hitch’s famous Sunday brunch this Sunday, January 29 (10am – 2pm).

The band’s patented “high spirits, low volume” music is perfectly suited to enhance the renown dining experience the restaurant is known for. As with all appearances at Blackwall Hitch, this will be an all-instrumental performance.

Blackwall Hitch is located at 400 Sixth Street in Eastport, just over the Spa Creek bridge near the Annapolis city dock. See you there!

This Saturday, January 7, the Jazz Perpetrators will be starting the new year off right with an evening of  smooth jazz and R&B tunes at the Gambrills location of  the Smashing Grapes Restaurant + Wine Bar. Like all of the band’s appearances at Smashing Grapes locations, this first gig of 2023 will be an all instrumental performance.

You can find the Smashing Grapes Gambrills location in the Waugh Chapel Towne Centre at 2383 Brandermill Blvd, Gambrills. The Perps will play from 9pm until midnight, so stop on by, kick back and relax to some great music as you get your year off to a smooth start. See you there!

The Jazz Perpetrators will wrap up 2022 with a special New Year’s Eve performance at one of the band’s favorite spots, the Annapolis location of the Smashing Grapes Kitchen + Wine Bar.

The Perps will see out 2022 and ring in 2023 this Saturday, New Year’s Eve, performing from 9:30pm until 12:30 am. The Smashing Grapes Annapolis venue is conveniently  located at 177 Jennifer Road, Annapolis 21401, adjacent to the Annapolis Mall. Come on down and swing into 2023 in style!

Come join The Jazz Perpetrators at Brian Boru Irish Pub in Severna Park this Sunday, December 11, from 3 to 6 pm. Brian Boru Irish Pub is conveniently located at 489 Ritchie Highway #103 in Severna Park.

As an extra special Christmas musical treat, the band will be joined by their singer extraordinaire, the one and only Sterling Dorn, aka the life of the party. When Sterling’s singing and the band’s swinging, you know you’re going to have a good time!

The following Friday, December 16, The Perps will continue their cycle of appearances at the Smashing Grapes Kitchen + Wine Bar, this time at the Gambrills location at the Waugh Chapel Towne Centre (2383 Brandermill Blvd, Gambrills, MD 21054). The band plays from 9 pm and to midnight.

BUT WAIT – THERE’S MORE!

In addition to the gigs above, The Perps can be found creating musical mischief two more times this month!

First – a special holiday appearance by The Perps trio (aka Perps Christmas Lites) at Homestead Gardens in Davidsonville this Saturday, December 10 from noon to 3 pm. The trio (no pa-rum-pa-pum-pum) will be providing holiday music to add a little sonic sparkle to customers’ shopping experience.

The other – and final 2022 performance – will be at the Annapolis Smashing Grapes Kitchen + Wine Bar on New Year’s Eve. This is one of the band’s favorite spots, so come on down and swing into 2023 in style!
