Perps On The March

Posted: March 3, 2019 in Latest News

The Jazz Perpetrators are on the March (as in the month). Your favorite musical miscreants will be putting their respective jazz junk in their trunks and hauling it all over the place this month, starting with their annual appearance at the Goshen Farm Preservation Society’s annual fund raiser on Sunday, March 10. The alliterative event (officially entitled “Java and Jazz/Tea and Tunes”) will be held at the Cape St. Claire Clubhouse, 1223 River Bay Road in Cape St. Claire from 3 to 5 pm. The Perps will provide their patented “high spirits, low volume” musical entertainment while attendees enjoy a wide selection of tasty goodies and hot & cold beverages — it’s all good music, food, and company for a good cause. Admission is free but donations are welcome. All proceeds and donations go to support the historic Goshen Farm preservation project. For more info on Goshen Farm, click here.

Second stop for the Perps will be on Sunday, March 24 when they debut at the Blackwall Hitch in Eastport to provide just the right musical ambiance for the Hitch’s Sunday brunch. The band plays from 10 to 2pm.

The 31st of the month (another Sunday) finds the Perps back again by popular demand at Pirates Cove, located on the waterside at 4817 Riverside Drive in Galesville. Both the Perps and the Cove’s patrons had too much fun at the band’s debut there last month and this next gig promises to be just as much fun, if not more.

And there you have it: three chances this month to catch the Perps doin’ what they do best. Come on out and help us perpetrate!

Join the Perps on Sunday, February 10th, from 3 to 7 pm as we make our 2019 debut at Pirates Cove Restaurant and Dock Bar, 4817 Riverside Drive in historic Galesville, MD, on the West River.  Great food & drink + great location + great jazz all add up to one great time. High spirits & low volume – the best combination for a relaxing Sunday afternoon. – See you there!

For the third year in a row the Jazz Perpetrators are pleased to provide the musical entertainment for the final day of this year’s Homestead Gardens Fall Festival, held at the store’s spacious home location at 743 West Central Avenue in Davidsonville, just east of Rt 50.

In addition to the Perps outdoor performance (11am-3pm), daylong festival fun and activities will include hay rides, a moon bounce, carnival games and pony rides (and a beer garden for the grownups). Visitors can also enjoy seeing our barnyard friends up close, including pigs, goats, alpacas, goats and chickens.

Live music and livestock – you can’t beat that combination! So come on down and have some pre-Halloween fun; you and your entire family will be glad you did.

For the third year in a row the Jazz Perpetrators will be providing the musical entertainment for the Goshen Farm Preservation Society’s annual Wine Tasting and Silent Auction. The outdoor event will be held on Saturday, August 18, from 4 to 7 p.m. at 1504 Stacy Lane – Annapolis, MD 21409. Free parking for the event will be available behind Bay Area Insurance (818 E. College Parkway, Annapolis, MD 21409).

In addition to enjoying the Perps’ famous “low volume/high spirits” performance, attendees will be able to taste test numerous varieties of the grape accompanied by an assortment of hors d’oeuvres. All of this is in addition to the main event, a silent auction of a wide array of gifts and services donated by local vendors. A $20 donation (tax deductible!) will get you in the door, with all proceeds going to support the Historic Goshen Farm and Educational Center.

So get your grape on next Saturday and come out and see the Perps performing  in broad daylight!  More details are available on the Goshen Farm Facebook page: (https://www.facebook.com/goshenfarm.org/) and at www.goshenfarm.org.

Everybody’s favorite musical miscreants, the Jazz Perpetrators, are getting ready to celebrate the arrival of summer the best way they know how: by bringing a full night’s worth of their famous “high spirits, low volume” jazz-o-rama to Bookmakers Cocktail Club this Saturday night, June 30.

Perps are Back in Baltimore!

Posted: March 16, 2018 in Latest News

Spring is around the corner and so is the Jazz Perpetrators’ next performance in Baltimore. Join them as they make their second appearance on Friday, March 23rd at Bookmakers Cocktail Club, a sophisticated cocktail and supper club located 31 East Cross St. in the heart of Federal Hill.

Starting at 9pm, the Perps will deliver their patented “high spirits, low volume” approach to jazz that won’t hurt your ears or make you wonder what happened to the melody. Sterling Dorn (aka Mister Smooth), the Perp’s regular vocalist will be sitting this one out, but the Perps look forward to sharing the stage with vocalist and trombonist extraordinaire, Mike Overholser — another horn AND vocals, what more can you ask for!

If you’re ready for a warm up in the weather, get your Spring on with a relaxing evening out with the Perps as they welcome the return of the sun, flowers and yard work, well, maybe not that…come on out!

Bookmakers is located right on the south side of E. Cross Street, between Light and S. Charles Street. Easy to get to, but – with all the fine food, drink and music – hard to leave.

See you there!

The Jazz Perpetrators will be in “do good” mode as they provide music to sip & swing by for this year’s edition of the Goshen Farm Java & Jazz fund raiser on Sunday, March 11.

The event will take place at the Cape St. Claire Clubhouse, 1223 River Bay Road in Cape St. Claire (Annapolis 21409) and will run from 3 to 5 pm. Attendees will enjoy a wide selection of mouth-watering goodies and hot & cold beverages, along with the Perps’ patented “high spirits, low volume” musical entertainment.

Last year’s “Specialty Farm House” Coffees (two specialty coffee drinks made with locally sourced ingredients) were such a hit that they’re on the menu again this year. Come taste what you can’t get at a chain coffee shop:

First up (alphabetically) is Farmhouse Moonshine Coffee, which has Lyon’s Corn Whiskey, Bar Keep lavender organic bitters, with coffee and chicory topped with whipped honey-sweetened cream.

Second is Plowman’s Tonic, which features Lyons Dark Rum, Godiva Chocolate (no local source for chocolate liqueur), muddled mint leaf, and whipped honey-sweetened cream. Both will be available for $5.00 each.

All proceeds and donations go to support the historic Goshen Farm preservation project, so come on out for a relaxing afternoon of good food and music to support a good cause.  Admission is free but donations are welcome. See you there!
